As part of its regional expansion, the company is establishing a new Singapore manufacturing operation with integrated production, warehousing, and supporting infrastructure.
Job Details
A key hands on engineering role responsible for ensuring the reliability, availability, and performance of plant equipment, utilities, and facility systems within a new specialty chemicals manufacturing environment.
The successful candidate will act as the single point of contact for all maintenance activities, managing preventive maintenance, breakdown repairs, equipment reliability improvements, utilities support, and facility maintenance.
This is a hands-on role suited for an engineer who enjoys building maintenance systems, working closely with operations teams, and taking ownership of plant reliability during startup and future growth phases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plant Maintenance & Reliability
- Take ownership of all maintenance activities across production equipment, utilities, and facility systems
- Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programmes
- Coordinate troubleshooting, breakdown repairs, and corrective maintenance activities
- Improve equipment reliability, availability, and operational performance
Maintain maintenance records, equipment history, and reliability data
- Equipment & Engineering Support
- Provide engineering support for production equipment including process machinery, pumps, motors, mixers, filling systems, and associated equipment
- Support equipment installation, commissioning, testing, and handover activities
- Coordinate with equipment suppliers and external contractors for repairs and technical support
Identify improvement opportunities to enhance equipment performance and reduce downtime
- Utilities & Facility Maintenance
- Manage maintenance activities related to plant utilities including:
- Electrical systems
- HVAC systems
- Compressed air systems
- Water systems
- Building and facility infrastructure
- Ensure facility systems operate safely, reliably, and efficiently
Support statutory inspections, contractor management, and facility-related requirements
- Manage maintenance activities related to plant utilities including:
- Safety, Compliance & Continuous Improvement
- Ensure maintenance activities comply with site safety requirements and relevant regulations
- Work closely with HSE, Production, Quality, and Engineering teams
- Support maintenance-related risk assessments and improvement initiatives
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to reliability, cost optimisation, and operational efficiency
Job Requirements
- Degree / Diploma / Cert in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related engineering disciplines
- Experience in plant maintenance, equipment reliability, or facilities engineering within:
- Specialty Chemicals
- Chemicals
- Manufacturing
- Process industries
- Industrial plants
- Strong hands-on experience in mechanical, electrical, or instrumentation maintenance
- Experience managing preventive maintenance programmes and troubleshooting equipment issues
- Exposure to utilities systems and facility maintenance is preferred
- Comfortable working in a new plant setup and building maintenance processes from the ground up
Strong ownership mindset with ability to work independently and coordinate multiple stakeholders
