Our client is a leading international player in the specialty chemicals industry, with a strong manufacturing presence in Singapore and operations spanning the Asia Pacific region. Renowned for their innovation, technical expertise, and commitment to quality, they have partnered with us in a retained and exclusive search to appoint an experienced Market Development Expert. This role focuses on driving growth and strengthening market presence for one of their major product lines.

Job Details

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, Asia Pacific, you will take ownership of a high-value product portfolio, developing and executing strategies to expand market share, strengthen customer relationships, and drive sustainable business growth across Southeast Asia, China, South Korea, and Japan.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead growth strategy for the Cast Polyurethane product line across the region.
  • Identify and pursue new business development opportunities within polyurethane and related applications.
  • Build and manage a strong distributor/partner network to support business expansion.
  • Engage with customers to understand their technical and commercial needs, offering solutions tailored to their requirements.
  • Track market trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities to inform strategy.
  • Work closely with R&D, lab, and cross-functional teams to drive product innovation and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Oversee product positioning, pricing, and forecasting to meet business targets.
  • Represent the business at trade fairs, conferences, and industry events.

Job Requirements

  • Degree-qualified with at least 8 years of regional sales or product management experience in the specialty chemicals sector.
  • Proven experience with Cast Polyurethane (CPU) is highly preferred. Candidates with strong exposure to Polyurethane (including TPU) may also be considered.
  • Proven track record in international sales/trading and distributor/channel management.
  • Strong ability to understand and apply technical product knowledge.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Analytical, commercially astute, and solutions-focused, with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Highly self-motivated, able to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Willingness to travel regionally (approx. 50%).
