Engineering Director – Leading Nutrition & Food Ingredients Business
Job Details
A global leader in the Nutrition & Food Ingredients sector is seeking an experienced Engineering Director to spearhead its end-to-end engineering strategy in Malaysia. This is a high-impact leadership role for someone who knows how to blend operational excellence with forward-thinking innovation — and isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves when the plant calls.
About the Role
You’ll lead the full engineering lifecycle across multiple manufacturing assets — from capital projects and plant upgrades to reliability, utilities, and automation. This role shapes the long-term engineering roadmap, strengthens technical governance, and ensures the site is always a step ahead of regulatory, sustainability, and efficiency standards.
If you’re the kind of leader who reads a P&ID like poetry, questions the status quo, and builds teams that run on trust, discipline, and continuous improvement… this one hits different.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all site engineering functions: maintenance, reliability, CAPEX planning, utilities, automation, asset care.
- Develop and execute long-term engineering strategy aligned with global manufacturing and business objectives.
- Oversee large-scale capital projects including design, budgeting, execution, and commissioning.
- Strengthen engineering governance: safety, compliance, quality, and audit readiness.
- Drive sustainability and energy-efficiency initiatives to support corporate ESG goals.
- Build, mentor, and elevate high-performing engineering teams.
- Partner closely with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and Regional Leadership teams.
- Serve as a technical authority for troubleshooting, plant expansions, and innovation projects.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or related).
- 12–18+ years of experience in Food, Nutrition, Ingredients, Specialty Chemicals, Pharma, or related process manufacturing.
- Strong track record leading plant engineering, reliability, and capital project execution.
- Experience managing multi-million-dollar CAPEX portfolios.
- Proven leadership ability — not just managing teams, but shaping culture and capability.
- Deep understanding of regulatory, safety, and quality systems.
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders and collaborate across global teams.
