We are partnering with an established international business operating within the plastics recycling and recycled polymer trading sector to identify experienced Business Development Managers, Plastics Traders and Polymer Traders across global markets.
This is an opportunity for commercially driven professionals with an established understanding of the plastics, polymers, recycled plastics or plastic scrap markets to develop business within their respective geography while being part of an international trading platform.
The position can be based remotely, and we are open to speaking with suitable professionals across Asia, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, North America, South America and Oceania.
We are particularly interested in individuals who combine strong business development capabilities with hands-on buying, sourcing, trading or selling experience within plastics and polymers.
What You Will Do
- Buy, sell and trade plastic scrap, recycled plastics and/or polymer materials within your assigned market.
- Identify and develop new suppliers, recyclers, processors, manufacturers, converters and end-user customers.
- Build a sustainable pipeline of new business through market mapping, networking, cold outreach and direct business development.
- Develop both the supply and customer side of the market.
- Negotiate commercial terms, pricing, volumes and supply arrangements while protecting margins.
- Manage existing trading relationships while continuously identifying new business opportunities.
- Monitor regional and international polymer pricing, supply-demand dynamics, recycling trends and commodity movements.
- Identify new sources of recyclable plastics and opportunities for recycled polymer sales.
- Work closely with international commercial, trading, purchasing and operational teams.
- Maintain accurate commercial activity, pipeline and account information through CRM and internal reporting systems.
- Develop strong knowledge of local recycling infrastructure, polymer markets, processors and end users.
- Operate with a high degree of autonomy while contributing to a globally connected commercial organisation.

Your Background
Ideally, you will bring:
- Proven commercial experience within the plastics, polymers, recycling or commodity trading industry.
- Experience in buying, selling, sourcing or trading prime, off-grade, scrap or recycled polymers.
- A demonstrable track record of developing new business and opening new accounts.
- Strong existing market knowledge and industry relationships within your geography.
- Experience developing suppliers and/or customers from scratch.
- Strong commercial negotiation skills with an understanding of pricing, margins and trading economics.
- An entrepreneurial and highly proactive approach to business development.
- The ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating with international colleagues.
Strong communication and relationship-management capabilities.
Existing relationships with plastic recyclers, waste management companies, MRFs, polymer producers, compounders, converters, packaging manufacturers, FMCG companies or industrial plastics users would be highly advantageous.
