This post is based on a publication from BCG recently : The Next 50 Years of Work. A very insightful article and we wanted to highlight our main takeaway : “High demand skills for the future”
Key Skills to develop:
- Mindsets and Habits: Toolkit for Internal strength: mindfulness to remain present amidst chaos, self-regulation to manage our physical and emotional well-being, adaptability to embrace change, decisiveness to make swift choices, and optimism to maintain a positive outlook. Consider a seasoned sailor who remains calm and focused during a storm, adjusting sails and course as needed, all the while confident in the journey ahead. This can apply to various contexts of Like including Personal and Professional Realms.
- Bionic Skills: Mastering bionic skills will be crucial. Imagine a world where seamlessly integrating AI and robotics into our daily tasks is as common as using a smartphone today. Individuals will strive to enhance their understanding of technology, making decisions based on solid data, and harnessing AI to boost their creative processes. Moreover, the ability to collaborate with machines as if they were colleagues will become second nature.
- Creativity: As artificial intelligence is creating a challenge for Creative professionals, the essence of human creativity becomes ever more indispensable. It’s the spark of originality in each person that will tackle emerging challenges and make a positive impact in society. Skills such as inquisitiveness, imagination, inventive problem-solving, narrative flair / storytelling, and mastery in forms of expression like art, film, and writing will be in high demand. Take, for instance, a community artist who uses recycled materials to create interactive installations, sparking conversations and solutions around environmental sustainability. This fusion of creativity and practicality exemplifies the invaluable human touch in our AI-augmented future.
- Human-to-Human, Team-Focused, and Community-Focused Skills: It’s not just about one-on-one interactions; it’s about thriving in team settings and contributing to the broader community. Imagine a mosaic, where each piece represents an individual’s unique skills and cultural insights. When these pieces come together, they create a complete picture, much like employees in an organization combine their collective intelligence for innovative problem-solving. Key abilities for this collaborative process include effective communication, understanding emotions, appreciating diverse viewpoints, and skillfully guiding group dynamics towards co-creating solutions.
